Precision diagnostics, resolved through integrated design

Form Studio was engaged to lead the design and development of the Objectivision Accumap2 system. A medical diagnostic platform that detects degenerative eye and neurological conditions through bio-electrical signal analysis.

Working alongside electronics engineers, software teams and clinical specialists, we delivered a fully integrated hardware and user experience solution. The result is a refined system designed for clinical accuracy, usability and manufacture.

The Accumap2 required multiple complex systems to operate as one.

  • Disposable patient interface requiring hygiene, precision and repeatability
  • Integration of biological sensing hardware with a workstation and touchscreen interface
  • Clear operation within a clinical environment
  • Compliance with international medical device standards

At the core was the electrode system. It needed to deliver consistent signal capture, adapt to different patients and enable efficient replacement between tests.

Our Approach

System Integration

We defined the product architecture across hardware, software and electronics, ensuring all components operated as a unified system.

Industrial and Mechanical Design

We developed the mechanical design of the workstation and amplifier, including internal layout, structure and assembly. The external form reflects the precision expected in a clinical environment.

Disposable Electrode System

We designed a flexible electrode frame incorporating a PCB with integrated contacts. The assembly sits within a compliant plastic frame that adapts to patient variation while maintaining positional accuracy.

A clip-on interface enables fast replacement, supporting hygiene and workflow efficiency.

User Experience

The system was designed around the testing process. Hardware and interface work together to guide both technician and patient, reducing setup time and improving consistency.

The Accumap2 system was delivered as a complete, market-ready solution.

  • High level of diagnostic accuracy
  • Clear and efficient clinical workflow
  • Integrated hardware and interface design
  • Strong positioning as a premium medical device

Capability

We deliver complex products through a structured, integrated approach. We work from early concept through to production, aligning design, engineering and manufacturing to deliver commercially viable outcomes.

We partner with teams developing advanced products where precision,

integration and execution matter.
